About Us

The IKTA is an association to support and advance the practice of knowledge transfer – the sharing of knowledge, skills and technologies between public research organisations and commercial enterprises, for the collective benefit and public good in Ireland.

The IKTA Membership is open to all knowledge transfer practitioners in Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO) roles at Irish public research performing organisations.

Our Mission

The mission of IKTA is to promote and supports its members in the development of technology and knowledge transfer (KT), innovation, entrepreneurship, consultancy, continuing professional development and related activities to support development of the knowledge economy in Ireland. 

Our Vision

To lead and support knowledge transfer professionals in their management of intellectual property emanating from RPOs based in Ireland by enhancing collaboration and increasing the operational effectiveness of KT professionals in Ireland.
